We work across pure and applied mathematics, with an emphasis on computable, explorable, and honest mathematics. Our interests cluster around a few connected areas.

Topology

Persistent homology, applied topology, and the computational side of algebraic topology. We are particularly interested in what topological invariants can tell us about high-dimensional data.

Neural Networks & AI

Expressivity, generalization, and the mathematics of why neural networks work. We study the interplay between architecture, data geometry, and learnability — with a bias toward results that are testable.

Number Theory

Analytic and computational number theory, with a long-running interest in the distribution of zeros of L-functions. We build tools that make experiments on large datasets practical for small teams.

Experimental Mathematics

We treat the computer as a first-class mathematical instrument. We design experiments, publish our code, and report negative results as openly as positive ones.
